empowerring the youth through filmmaking
On May 3, 2007, a dream come true for three film students – Thiery Dushimirimana,
Gilbert Ndahayo and Pierre Kayitana–from the Rwanda Cinema Center. New York City’s fbi
productions, Inc., Tribeca Film Festival, and the Rwanda Cinema Center brought the three
young filmmakers to New York City in May to debut their latest films. Here the three
budding directors held center stage during the multi-media event, Three Voices: A Focus
on Rwanda, which fbi Productions, Inc. produced as a showcase for Rwanda’s best young
cineastes.
Luminaries from the world of politics, film, finance, and culture attended, including
Presidents Paul Kagame and Bill Clinton, both of whom gave keynote addresses. Eric
Kabera, (below), Chairman and Founder of Rwanda Cinema Center, also spoke, thanking
the many friends, from Rwanda, New York, and the world, who came to support this great
effort.
